Sunday 27 September from 3 pm - 8 pm Oxford House in Bethnal Green Derbyshire Street, London E2 6HG Surveying a wide range of independent local, national and international publishers of magazines, fanzines, journals, diaries and periodicals, Publish and Be Damned celebrates publishing as a creative and critical space for presenting artists' work. As with previous years, the fair celebrates experimental approaches to making and distributing the work of artists, writers and musicians outside of the commercial mainstream. Publish and Be Damned is taking place in parallel with the London Art Book Fair, 25 Fri - 27 Sun at the Whitechapel. At PABD we will present the special limited edition of MARIOS DIK artist book with Karol Radziszewski photo-shoots reminding body art and performance documentations from 70’s. TO PEE IN A BUN Works from the Collection of Zacheta National Gallery of Art 5 September - 22 November 2009 opening: 4 September 2009, 7 pm Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw About the show: TO PEE IN A BUN is the fifth presentation of a selection of works from the Zachęta collection. At the exhibition can be seen works either rarely or never before seen. The exhibition’s curator Karol Radziszewski – has made a subjective selection and reinterpretation of works, placing them in new and at times surprising contexts. TO PEE IN A BUN is a quotation taken from a classic figure of Polish conceptualism, Edward Krasinski. The artist once wrote a short poem: WOULDN’T IT BE FUN TO PEE IN A BUN The curator has made numerous interventions in the arrangement of the exhibition itself, establishing a playful relationship with the space of the gallery and the works on show, but at the same time posing a question as to the status and character of the collection. Radziszewski, a graduate of the Painting Department of the Academy of the Fine Arts in Warsaw admits: "I treated the works of other artists as ingredients in a greater whole, a bit like tubes of paint from which I squeezed out colours to paint a single, composite image". Adult viewers will have a chance to watch at the exhibition "Fantom Boys" - the very first gay porn produced in Poland in 2000. The movie was co-produced by American porn star Chris Steele. Bruce LaBruce once wrote about his stay in Poland when he was invited for a special screening of Poland’s first ever gay porn movie that halfway through, he left and went back to the hotel to watch Mia Farrow in "Hurricane"... The MARIOS DIK is a collaboration between Karol Radziszewski and DIK Fagazine with clothing designs by the MARIOS duo - Leszek Chmielewski and Marios Loizou. The collection’s prints have Karol Radziszewski’s characteristic strong lines with fantastic centaurs, crystals, and plant motifs. The project is accompanied by the action "Pants for Video" - readers, artists, and friends of DIK Fagazine are invited to use DIK pants as props in their own films.
